Foundation for Lee County Public Schools’ STEM@Work Kickoff Event

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is hosting its annual STEM@Work kickoff event at Alico Family Golf on October 26th and 27th. The two-day event will invite 300 students from 15 Lee County high schools to participate in activities focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Career Planning, and Business Marketing. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools is hosting its annual STEM@Work kickoff event at Alico Family Golf on October 26th and 27th. The two-day event will invite 300 students from 15 Lee County high schools to participate in activities focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Career Planning, and Business Marketing. The Foundation’s STEM@Work program aims to introduce high school students to STEM-based learning and career opportunities by offering hands-on interactions and tours at local businesses in the STEM industry throughout the school year.

The STEM@Work program is a collaborative partnership between The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the Career & Technical Education Department of the Lee County School District. Through immersion tours and interactive field trips, Lee County high school students will experience on-the-job learning in several local Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math industries. Participating students have the opportunity to build critical thinking skills, demonstrate creativity and innovation, and work cooperatively as a group through business engagement and year-end presentations.
